PLANET CAKE WEEKLY UPDATE 20.02.10

Celebrity cakes, country-wide courses, guest appearances and a plethora of wedding extravaganzas, all in a weeks work at Planet Cake!

Love was certainly in the air this week with many couples tying the knot in the week after Valentines Day, and we were surrounded this week by mountains of multi-tiered wedding cakes, each more beautiful than the next.

Not to be outdone by classic cakes, our team of novelty cake-decorators were also hard at work on this amazing creation which marked a very special 100th birthday celebration. We just reckon it could be the best cake he’s seen in a century

Rob Thomas fans will know that the popular singer was in Sydney last week with his new tour, and Planet Cake were thrilled to supply him with a huge cake to help him celebrate his birthday Down Under, Aussie-style

And on the subject of celebrity cakes, it was brought to our attention this week that the amazing cake we created for Celine Dion;s 40th birthday back in 2008 features in her new film “Celine Dion: Through the Eyes of The World”. So if you’re a a fan make sure to check out this great insightful documentary on one of the world’s greatest vocalists.

While it was all excitement here in the Sydney studio, Jessica was busy in Brisbane while Fran and Effie began our first Melbourne classes for 2010. Having received a bit of a makeover in the New Year, our class space at the Kew Masonic Centre is looking better than ever and as usual our Melbourne students blew us away with their positivity and talent

Here at Planet we often have pieces of irresistible cake and chocolate go mysteriously missing and it seems at last we’ve found the culprit (well hey this is our excuse anyway and we’re sticking to it!)

Until next week, as always peace, love and chocolate cake

Thea
